After tomorrow’s home finale, the Giants are having a post-game comedy show, featuring Rob Schneider, Hal Sparks, Tom Green, and Mark Pitta. This sounded like a more exciting prospect Thursday night, when the Giants needed to win one game against the Padres to lock in the division. Now, the Giants still need to win one game to lock in the division - and A Day of Comedy With the Giants might follow Three Days of Choking With the Giants. They can’t be eliminated, but the crowd might be depressed if the Giants are headed to San Diego for a playoff game.
Doing comedy at a baseball game seems nightmarish to me, perhaps because I have had actual nightmares about doing comedy at a baseball game. In that one, I called departed Giants outfielder Randy Winn “Randy Lose,” which is one of the more hilarious dream ad-libs I’ve ever had. I would recommend that tomorrow’s comedians not refer to Jonathan Sanchez as “Dirty” or say complimentary things about Barry Zito’s pitching.
Also, if the Giants do win, Rob Schneider should definitely do Richard Laymer talking about the team “making copies the playoffs.”
